Potter stuntman David 'seriously injured' on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows

David, who doubles for Harry star Daniel Radcliffe, was rehearsing a flying scene which involved him being strapped into a harness and propelled through the air.

It is believed he was sent plummeting to the ground by a controlled explosion that was part of the stunt. David, from Southend, had been part of a team rehearsing stunts for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Leavesden studios near Watford.

David is said to be close to Daniel Radcliffe and they regularly chat between scenes.

According to mirror.co.uk David was taken to Watford General Hospital then transferred to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Health and safety officers are investigating the accident.

According to the press association 'a stuntman who doubles for Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is believed to have suffered a serious injury during filming', according to reports.

The accident happened on set at Leavesden Studios, near Watford, where the latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is in production.
